Tim has served the community as Delegate for the 40th House District since 2003 and currently serves as Majority Caucus Chair. He is also the Vice Chairman of the Finance Committee, in addition to serving on the Commerce and Labor, Transportation, and Privileges and Elections Committees. Tim continually looks for “common-sense” solutions to the challenges facing our citizens. Human trafficking is a growing problem; Tim has worked to fight against those who would do harm to young people by enacting harsher penalties to those convicted of these horrendous crimes and by increasing public awareness. Regarding higher education, Tim fights to require Virginia colleges and universities to admit more Virginia residents. Pressure from he and other state legislators has been brought to bear on these colleges and universities and they have agreed to increase the total number of slots for in-state students over the next 5 years. He has worked to inform and protect citizens against Lyme disease and the possibility of false-negative diagnoses by enacting legislation to require informing patients of those risks. As a resident of Fairfax County for over 25 years, the part of his job that he enjoys the most as a Delegate for the 40th Virginia District is helping the community and serving the needs of constituents.
